Anyone else getting spam from Keyword Spy (KeywordSpy.com)??

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

In the last week I’ve gotten two lead form fills (I’m assuming their bots confused the form with a blog comment form), a few comments, and lots of spammy emails from throwaway GMail accounts.

Name: Michelle
E Mail : michelle@keywordspy.com
Phone: 01877520-8596
Company : keywordspy
Url: http://www.keywordspy.com
Comments: I found this great adwords tool KeywordSpy.com . I\’m using it and it has really improved my profits. It offers Free trials.- http://www.keywordspy.com/

Ok seriously, how can you say you ‘found’ a great site when your email is coming from @keywordspy.com??

Hello,

I found this great adwords tool KeywordSpy.com for keyword researching & also its affiliate program. It really worked well earning me good profits. They track affiliate keywords on powerful networks like ClickBank, Commission Junction, LinkShare, PayDotCom, ClixGalore, ShareASale, MAXBounty, TradeDoubler, Amazon.
I noticed it when I read many people who use keywordspy are making very good revenue & can see who are the super affiliate, look at the keywords, the ad copies and setup similar campaigns.

In 10 minutes we can have a affiliate campaign setup that is already profitable.
It very useful for tracking what your competitor is doing, tracking all advertisers on Google in over 20 countries.
I could also monitor my competitor’s marking strategies. Therefore KeywordSpy can be used to imporove own PPC campaign by finding better keywords.

We could exchange some more ideas & tools if you have come across.

Thanks,
Jenni.

Wow Jenni, way to name drop all the great affiliate programs this helps you with. I hope they sue you for tarnishing their names by including it in your spam.

So far I’ve seen one other blogger talking about keyword spy’s spamming and I want to see if anyone else is doing this and encourage them to blog about it too.

Google bans text link brokers (i.e. competitors) from advertising through AdWords

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Type in “text links”, “buy text links” or “text link ads” in Google and you will notice that there are no longer any ads for companies that offer these services. That’s right, you can no longer bid on these or other related terms through AdWords.

While this move is being praised by some:

This is the first time that Google has actually taken a stand that makes them lose money in their war against text links and I think it is a good move. There is nothing more hypocritical than Google starting a war against a certain industry on one hand and accepting money from them on the other.

I see this argument as fundamentally flawed. This move by Google will actually help them make more money, as people interested in buying text links to drive traffic will have fewer choices, and a large number of them will end up biting the bullet and buying ads through AdWords.

These kinds of anti-competitive business practices show that while Google claims not to be evil, what they really mean is that they’ll spin the motives behind their actions so well that their “evilness” will be praised by the very targets of their ploy.

Update:

Looks like Matt Cutts has confirmed that Google is banning these advertisers in the comments on his blog.
